On Sunday the 17th of March 2024 we celebrated the founding of the new Ukrainian and Russian speaking church “Word of Faith” of Slava and Sasha Balahura in Dresden. Slava and Sasha are members of the Activate Translocal Team. Their church will be a place of meeting and faith for people from different nations and cultures. As a network, we support Slava and Sascha in starting their church.
After worship, prayer for Ukraine and greetings from some of the guests who have accompanied the couple on their life journey, Wayne led the service and the ordination with his message. Sasha and Slava were then ordained and blessed for fruitful church leadership. As mentioned, this is a Ukrainian church, open to all people who understand Ukrainian or Russian.
